Last night my brother knocked over the nail polish remover bottle and I didn't care. But this morning my mom freaked out when she noticed that the bottle that fell wasn't closed all the way and it spilled all over the wood floors. So I wiped up the nail polish remover but now there are white marks and spots all over the wood floor and it is VERY noticeable. Are there any products out there that can clean it up or am I just screwed?

My dryer is 8 years old and it suddenly started blowing cold air. Should I call an appliance repair person to possibly fix it or should I get a brand new one? Furthermore, what is causing the cold air?

Had lifetime mirror tint applied to the glass windows on my home. Was told the safest thing to clean it with is plain water. Okay, but we are smokers and water doesn't do it. Please, no lectures about quitting smoking (smile)...

My wife and I are buying an older home that has 32" countertops. We would like to install a dishwasher, but all of the ones that we have seen are 34" tall. Does anyone know of a dishwasher that will fit and/or where to find it?

Our heater blows way to hard upstairs and not enough downstairs. It only has one unit and we have 3200 square feet of home and it is a newer house. It doesnt have any kind of switch for summer or winter or anything like that, I looked everywhere. It blows super hard upstairs, like rediculous hard and hardly anything downstairs. It takes forever for downstairs to get to the right temp and by that time it is unbearably hot upstairs. Would it hurt to close ALL the vents upstairs and let just the few vents downstairs blow? Is it to much restriction or no?

We have a wood stove and it is our only source of heat. I am wondering if it is my imagination or what: It seems that the wood in our stove burns faster when the weather is cold. At night on a day that is not below freezing the wood stove packed and in the am we still have wood. When it is in the 30s it seems like when we pack the stove tight, there is none in the am. I am just wondering about this. Anyone have an idea or is it true that it is burning faster on cold nights and days.

I use a ventless propane heater to heat my garage. The hose to the propane tank is only 4 feet long so I have to keep the heater near the garage door in order to keep the tank outside. I would like to move the heater around the garage but I am concerned that it may be dangerous. What exactly is the danger?

My husband and I are currently stationed in Turkey and they have a store like Home Depot that is selling a combination computerized jacuzzi shower sauna hot tub. It also has a radio and lights which means it is wired with 220v not 110v like the states. If we do buy it, is it easy to change it from 220v to 110v?

What is the point of the man from comet helpfully phoning me this morning to tell me he will be here between 11am and 2pm if he clearly is not going to turn up during this time? It's really annoying.

My gas heater is not working properly. I have it set to a certain temperature and it will shut off before it gets there. I have to keep turning it off and on in order to get any heat. Sometimes it will stay on until the desired temperature is reached, but more often than not it stays on for a few minutes and then turns off. It does say I need to replace the battery, but it has been saying that since last winter too, and it didn't affect our a/c this past summer. Will replacing the battery make a difference or should I call a tech? I am not good at DIY with heaters and electrical/gas issues.
