My wife and I are buying an older home that has 32" countertops. We would like to install a dishwasher, but all of the ones that we have seen are 34" tall. Does anyone know of a dishwasher that will fit and/or where to find it?

I have seen a support added into the floor to allow the unit to be lowered into the space to fit under the counter. This would be added prior to finished floor install.
This home had a basement, so they could easily work underneath. The Joices that were in the area were notched out.
Not sure if this is up to code... but it worked. (distance of 3.5 in. and shimmed)

Doubtful that they make them that short. A custom one could be made, but the cost of that would be very high.

Most likely some modifications to the counter top or the flooring under the cabinet would have to be made.

most of them are as you have found. there might be something made for people with disabilities, wheelchair bound and such. i would think that they would be a bit pricey compared to the standard ones, though. check the major manufacturers web sites to see and maybe an email too. good luck.
