if you want to straighten it then you need to first spin it on its axis to find out exactly where it is bent and how much. rolling it on the floor will not tell you exactly where the bend is due to the flighting not being exactly the same size all the way thru. next after you've found the bend you need to apply pressure from the opp. side of the bend, just enough to push the center-tube back to a true center, you can use a hammer if you want just be careful not to hit too hard. do not use heat to try and straighten it, unless you are very skilled with the practice of heating and bending steel. I have a specially designed table that I use just for straightening augers and it takes time, patience and a little skill. I've been doing it for 15 years and it still gives me pains from time to time. any ?'s feel free to e-mail me I'd be glad to help.

If you can not fix with a big hammer you will need to take it to a welding shop so they can heat the metal up and pound it back into shape
