You probably could if you mount the brackets on the wall studs. But definetly you could not mount the bracket directly to plasterboard. It would pull-out and drop to the floor with the greatest of ease.

For something that heavy, you need to make sure that the mounting bracket is secured to a stud...the plasterboard alone won't handle the weight. If there isn't a stud in the location you want the TV, screw a piece of wood onto the wall spanning two studs and attach the mounting bracket to the wood.

I know it seems a lot of fuss but, when you try to find the wall studs, I bet they wont be exactly where you want them to be. My advise might seem way over the top, but I believe it to be the safest, cut out a square of wallboard between the studs, roughly covering the area of the mounting brackets, fix timber fixings flush with the studs so you have a solid timber fixing where your t.v. mounting brackets are, replace wallboard, tape any joints, fill and sand when dry, you can now mount the brackets.

As long as you attach the the TV mount to a stud, I would not try and mount it just into the plaster borad, will not support the weight.

yes but you must use the studding behind the plaster board. if done the right way they will be about 12" to 14" apart. use a screw driver or buy a stud finder from b and qs,or any hardware shop very handy they tell you where water pipes and electric pipes are. when you find the stud use a nice length of timber to span the studs, then fix to the timber.

We mounted a 21" but you should use a special mounting bracket sold at the T.V. store. I think ours cost around $50.00 but it sure made it easy and secure.
