There are some nice kits available which include screwdrivers, hammer, pliers, adjustable wrenches, tape measures and more. I'd get one that comes in a case. Besides these essentials, you gotta get a variable speed cordless drill, preferably a good one that is 12 or 14 volts. There are alot of good brands, Makita comes to mind. They run a little over $100. If all else fails, find an Irish boyfriend to help.

YES, one of my moms friends had heavy damage to her home back in January when the tornados hit mississippi and tore up the school....they had dropped it b/c she had some health problems and they needed the extra money, and then the storm hit and now 4 months later they still have tarps covering half their house bc they can't afford to have it repaired. Tooo many variable out there to not have it!

go to the hardware store and purchase a homeowner's tool kit. Everything you need may be there until you really need it, anyway
