What is the point of the man from comet helpfully phoning me this morning to tell me he will be here between 11am and 2pm if he clearly is not going to turn up during this time? It's really annoying.

To ColtsGal,
My point is i would have quite happily have sat in all day waiting for him, but he gave me false hope by giving me a time frame. That's the annoying part.

Ha,that's how we tradesmen get even with you "professionals" that make us wait forever in the doctors and dentists offices etc. When we give you a time frame just remember that there are many time zones on this earth. Hahahahaha!

He's calling you to give you a heads up so you don't call the company freaking out about when he will or won't show up.

You're right, he will probably be eating his 3 bologna sandwiches during that time.

you have obviously never worked for a business like this. I used to work as a receptionist for a carpet cleaning company and get annoying people calling asking when the technician will show up. My husband works for Dish Network and gets the same thing all the time.

You need to realize that they give you a time frame. They probably also told 2-3 other people they would be there between 11 and 2. He probably got caught up at one of his appointments that is taking them longer than anticipated. You will probably be the same kind of person who will hold him up and not care that you are making late for his next appointments.

That's Comet for you. I know loads of people who say similar things. I guess he's just been held up because a previous job took longer than he thought - or he had an extra long lunch!!
