I have this mirror which sits on the table and has the little mermaid sitting in the corner... Its like porcelain(sp?) anyways... her body snapped in two. We tried Krazy Glue and this stuff called QuickTite super glue and its not working. Does anyone know of anything specifically for this type of thing?

Thanks

Hi there. I plugged my coffee maker into the light dimmer switch. And as a result it was shorted out. Could some one tell me is there an easy DIY way to fix it? Thanks!

My heat pump works well when it is running. Sometimes I feel cold and while I hear the unit in the basement running, the exterior unit is not running. I then have to push in a reset button (on the exterior unit) to restart it. This works for maybe 1/2 a day up to a week or so (no pattern) then I have to do this all over again. In the summer it did well. I did not have to touch the reset button, but this winter and last winter it was an ongoing thing (off and on) and of course it doesnt do it when someone is here to check the unit out. But when it does this the unit in the basement runs continously and it blows cold air. When I push the reset button on the exterior unit, it blows warm air. What is the deal? Any help?

I need to put my mirror back on, and bought some stuff that is made for that but had no luck, my mom had some a while ago that worked great but I can't find it around where I live so I was wondering if it would hurt to use super glue?

We are getting a new heating system this week - going from oil heat to gas. Our house is very dry, so we'd like to install a whole house humidifier. Which of the following options would you recommend for a couple with moderate home repair skills (and a skilled dad!): 1. Have our contractor doing the new system find the unit for us and install it? 2. Buy a unit and give it to our contractor to install? 3. Buy a unit and install it ourselves? We're spending a lot of money and will, of course, ask our contractor for costs, but I'm wondering if anyone has any advice based on experience with ease of installation and cost. Thanks!!

We recently regrated our yard to make sure there is no water entering our basement but that only took care of about 90% of the problem. There is still water coming in through the concrete foundation wall, which goes all over the floor. I've tried the masonary sealer but that didn't do a whole lot. I've been researching waterproofing systems but I don't want to dig up the exterior or interior of my basement. Is there a solution that would somehow channel the water as it comes down the concrete wall? There has to be something that I can use to route water to my drain! Help!

I want to be able to at least have a light on,have my refrigerator running, have some hot water and a little heater. I don't want to be running around with wet hair in the cold either. Only serious answers please. I have no idea what to do. Please give me any useful tips to have. Thanks in advance.

It's a typical bathtub in a 25 year old house. I have a couple of dark rust spots - about the size of a pencil eraser right at the drain. Can I kill it or am I looking at a new tub?

we have noticed around some of the skirting boards in our house there is sometimes small piles of what looks like dirt. we thought the wood was rotting. i have noticed small black ants seem to come out of all these areas but i don't know if they would cause the problem.
