Hi there. I plugged my coffee maker into the light dimmer switch. And as a result it was shorted out. Could some one tell me is there an easy DIY way to fix it? Thanks!

the parts of your coffee maker that need to be serviced are sealed with a fastener called tamper-proof torx heads, which require a special tool set to take it apart...It's done that way because of the danger of untrained people trying to fix the appliance themselves, which can be VERY dangerous.

If you don't have the set of tools required to open the coffee maker, and need to ask how to fix it, I mean no offense, but to attempt this repair can be inviting disaster. is it worth it for a 20 dollar machine? and if it is a truely expensive model, your local phone directory can lead you to qualified service personnel, it's usually not an expensive fix for a coffee maker unless it's the heating element, in which case, it's tim for a new machine.

once something like this has happened to an appliance such as a coffee maker, tea kettle, mix master, toaster , etc. !! its best to replace it because theres obviously some damage done which may result in a fire !!! better safe than sorry...

No, it was shorted out and unless you are an electrician don't try. They are cheap enough and not worth a fire hazard to try to fix it yourself.
