I had some helpful advice about my previous enquiry - 'No water coming out of hot tap in bathroom sink' - http://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AlwO2n3yn4JZ58DlwrRoi3UgBgx.?qid=20061113071510AAwKOj3

I know this is stupid but I can't remove the very top of the tap to inspect it to see if it needs a new washer. I have taken off the top cover and can see a screw down below. The problem is to line up the screwdriver to get that screw undone. It is very difficult to get this alignment because the screw is some way down inside the tap. Are there any neat tips you can suggest.? You can see now I'm a prime candidate for DIY Disasters!

My toilet tank does not fill up. It remains empty and water does not seem to fill at all. What can I do?

All moving parts are in place, and working, except water does not refill the tank. Therefore, I cannot flush, even if I do it manually by pouring watch into the toilet bowl directly. I hope it is something I can fix myself and not something that is seriously wrong.

Hello, My Husband and I are young first time home owners. We own a condo. For the first time our Coils Froze up! Completely! It was only blowing air. So we turned off the A/C overnight. It defrost some. I noticed the air filter was very dirty, so I changed it. We usually have our A/C running ALL DAY and ALL NIGHT. This was the first time it did this. PLUS yesterday was our FIRST Colder Day. What should I do now? I put the FAN ON ONLY... is this correct???

Our septic tank is buried too deep to be working correctly. Evidently the people before us put a patio over it. The first year we moved in it had to be pumped twice a year. Now it's up to two months and it is horrible by then. The septic guy said all he can do is get another septic and attach it to the current one and it'll be $4800 dollars thank you very much. Meantime now all our toilets and our showers are backing up.

Any ideas how to get things better without coughing up the bucks? We don't HAVE $4800 and my credit is shot I can't even get a loan.

Serious answers please. If you'd like to email me I'd appreciate it if you have good advice. Thanks.

It started when I was using the sink in my batroom to wash my hands. I couldn't stop it, my boyfriend came in and thought to flush the toilet. Immediately the sound went away. As the tank started to fill it stayed quiet. Once it was full, the noise started again. So I kept having to flush the toilet to avoid having the whole place rumble and make strange noises. My boyfriend thought to keep the bathtub tap slightly on. This is a waste of water just to prevent weird rumbling noises, what on earth is wrong with my pipes, this never has happened before?

We've used tidy bowl, the blue tablets you leave in the tank, replaced all the seals, replaced the flush mechanism and checked for leaks in and under the tank.

Found out that there was a leak in my house's concrete slab. Had the house re-piped through the attic. Now for the dealing with "MOLD" removal in the kitchen, rip out all cabinets in the kitchen, and stay within a reasonable budget. Have to refloor major portion of the house as well. Anyone with experience in this painful endeavor?

Hello,
We have an external light for lighting up our porch. The cover is roughly 9"X4"X4" that 4 screws hold in place. When the light burned out, I found that the type of light-bulb it uses is the type that plugs in. The bulb in question has 2 little prongs about 1/4" long at roughly at the 2 & 8 o'clock positions.

What type of light-bulb is it?

Thanks.
