it does not tell me how to set it, do lower the #s or go to high number?it is a montgomery wards no longer in srevice.

You turn it down to the lowest number. Try just going down one number and see if that stops it. Also clean the dust off the coils because it might be trying too cool to hard if the coils are dirty. If it still gets ice then go down another number.

Go two or three numbers lower and see how that works.

Think of it like a volume control on your stereo.

1= low cooling
9= A lot of cooling
