I am looking to replace my boiler (I have steam heat) in a house that I purchased last year. I know that Weil Mclean is one of the better brands. I got an estimate to have this boiler installed and when I asked about other brands, the heating specialist told me that the cost difference was so little for the efficiency that I wanted that it would not even matter.

The pricing was appropriate, but is there really minimal differences in cost between the various brands? What are the more reliable brands anyways?

My tap does not appear to physically rotate to the off position but the water slowly decreases until it stops. Seems to only do this with the hot water tap in my sink.

I have a Kenmore that goes fills up but no longer "agitates". Also if I turn the dial to the rinse cycle it doesn't drain or spin. The only thing it seems to do is fill with water when I put it on the wash cycle. Any DIY advise before I break down and buy a new one I can't afford!

We have a Heating/Air Conditioning Heat Pump Condenser (located outside of the home on concrete pad) that becomes covered in frost during cold temperatures. Didn't do this before last year.

What is causing this?
Should I be concerned?
If this is a problem, how can I fix it myself?

Advice please.
Thanks.

We had a flood in our basement and all the carpeting we had got wet. We didn't pull it up right away and now (after we did ) the cement floor is filled with black mold and who knows what else. What should we use to clean it that will kill the black mold and any other kinds of molds or mildew that might be lurking there.

My ceiling in the bathroom started leaking a week ago. The superintendent came in and cut a hole in the ceiling. He called the plumber and they repaired the man's toilet above me, it had a small leak. Now, a week later, the pipe is still dripping into a container. I told the superintendent and he just looked at it for a minute and told me it was condensation--this was two days later, the condensation on the pipe had dried. I called the rental agengy and they are on the superintendent's side--both are shady. (The super had a girlfriend who is still missing, some people wonder if he had anything to do with it. He also let an elderly man go without heat for two weeks after October 15th which is against the law. There are more stories--tell you later.) The water which is dripping onto the back of my toilet is blue, which means it's probably old toilet water. I don't know what to do? Do you? I'm a little scared because this man could be a murderer--he has keys to my apartment!

what gauge extension cord should I use for my christmas lights? I have commercial grade mini christmas lights from GE that say you can connect up to six runs. Each run is 200 lights and 58 feet and I will be using 6 runs together. I have to run 200 feet from the house before getting to the mini lights. The box of xmas lights say they are 67.2w 120v 60hz. I have always heard that 300 mini lights = 1amp. What gauge extension cord should I use since I need 200 feet of it? Thanks

I bought my daughter and her boyfriend a microwave couple of years ago. They are not the most careful pair and they have very little respect for anything, even if it costs a fourtune, even if they buy it themselves!! The inside has gone extremely rusty, with great dollops of peeling hanging from the roof-yuk!! I can't imagine how they can bear to eat anything cooked in there! I figure that it's the condensation that has caused this and I believe you should mop up any moisture b4 closing the door after use, but they obviously haven't done that.
I'm not finacially well off and although I would like to get them a new microwave I can't see that I can afford one with a stainless steel interior, is there a way to prevent this spoiling to another microwave?
Please don't advice me not to get them another ect ect... I've battled for years & years with my daughter over her way of thinking ect ect, now that she doesn't live with me I choose to have peace with myself and her by saying nothing.

one of my plug outlets was short circuited(is that a word?) like, 10 months ago. I think that's what happened. Iwas vacuuming and my 3 year old son took a fork, and tried to pull the vacuum plug out with it. THANK GOD the fork had a plastic handle - I don't know what he was thinking. Scared the s h i t outta me! Anyways, I rent, and I still haven't told the landlord about it. I'm afraid he will try to charge me lots of money to fix it, or bring out an electrician, and I'm too broke to have to pay for anything like that right now. How much would it cost if an electrician had to fix it? Who's responsibility is it to pay for repairs? Would the electrician be able to tell how it was shorted(by a fork)? I haven't used the outlet for anything since that happened. Also, when that happened, 5 other outlets in the house stopped working properly, and the kitchen light no longer comes on. I've already reset all the breakers and such. Lamps, alarm clocks, TV's flicker and go out, if Iplugintooutle
