i would also like to know how deep to drill the holes and how far apart

silicone damp-proof injection fluid 2 holes per brick internal walls only need one side drilling.drill halfway in in brick. you can get a water based silicone injection fluid which odourless its not a stronger smelling whereas normal silicon smell lasts for weeks. both do same job

Are you sure you need to damp proof? Don't attempt this unless you are 100% sure about what you are doing. If you are unsure, you can do more damage than good. You don't appear to have the necessary expertise. It'll cost, but get a reputable installer to do the work.

try getting a dehumidafier,crank the heat,that will dry it out,,and hang some moth balls around damp spots,they'll soak up moisture
