It depends upon your shed. If it isn't rodent proof, I would think twice about leaving a piece of furniture in it. Mice love to burrow into furniture as it makes a perfect nest for them.

Sealing it totally with plastic would stop the humidity from damaging it, but plastic wouldn't stop rodents.

It probably wont rot if your only leaving it out there for a few months, but it will smell musty. Rodents big and small will want to move into it as well. Chipmunks, squirrels, rats, mice, voles, etc.

If there are no holes and it is the winter i think it`ll will be fine just make sure you cover it. And dont forget to take it when summer comes.
