I just moved and nothing will remove the stains from the tub. I'm sure that its not dirt but I am hoping that the stains aren't permanent.

Is there any way to go from 1/2" copper pipe to 1/2" PVC and CPVC without having to sweat the fitting?
I am replumbing my kitchen and I need to go from the existing 1/2" hot and cold water pipes which are copper to a down run made of pvc and cpvc.I need to know how to fit the copper to the plastic without sweatting a fitting to the copper. Are there pressure fittings for copper pipe like there is for tubing?

I just wanted to see how high the temperature would go. Then I smelled something getting too hot. Now the "Made In China" label on its back is all wavy. But it still works.

I have a brick ranch house, built about 60 years ago. The crawl space above the ceiling and under the roof is not that high to be working in...it can be done though.

The current insulation, which is of a loose type, (I have no idea on what type it is) has shrunk to about a 1/2 inch in thickness.

Which is better, economically? Which is better to put in, considering the small working space? I have approx. 1600 sq. ft. to insulate.

I have a forced air gas furnace in the house we bought last month. Turned it on about a two weeks ago was working fine, today the furnace will come on but sometimes puts out cold air other times works fine. The thermastat is digital and sometimes just goes blank, seems to lose power. I have it set at 70 but it will be 66 before the furnace comes on. Any ideas?

i was blow drying my hair and had a portable heater running at the same time when the power blew out in my room. the rest of the rooms in the house are fully functiong, just my own. i flipped the switch on the breaker, and it fixed it one time, but not after that. i tried flicking off the main switch, and still nothing. my sister was unaware of the situation and did the same thing in her room: plugged in the heater and blow dried her hair, and the same thing happened: she lost power, as did some of the outlets in the rooms adjacent to her.

can someone give me an idea on exactly what the problem is? i'm guessing i need an electrician for this, so how much does it usually cost? thanks in advance for the help.
