Go under the house and seal all the ductwork joints with aluminum duct tape, wrapping around where one piece of duct joins another. This small amount of space is where you get the "backwash" into the house of the mildew smell from under the house. I did that and it worked. Also, uncover the vent covers from the foundation and let it air out. If it doesn't clear, wear protective gear and spray a mildewcide or even plain Lysol down there to remove the smell and the source. I used a 20% bleach and water solution for mildew under the house, and along with uncovering the foundation vents, the smell is negligible. Hope this helps.

There is a an opening on the main system in your house somewhere, Most likely a closet in the hallway, etc. Just pour 1 cup of bleach down that opening once a month to prevent mold and mildew. We live in Florida and have to do the same thing. Never had a problem. good luck
