Here's an odd one. We are putting a coat of primer on the bathroom. As the paint dries it is begining to peel and clump off.

The old paint - we have no idea how old it is. This house was built in 1908, though I'm sure the paint is a few years older then that. Anyone know why this would happen?

What can we do to stop it?

My house lately seems to be shifting. The concrete is coming up and our stick on tile is cracking and so is the concrete. On the ceiling there are huge cracks and they have progressed in 6 months, and keeps cracking. Is it because it has been such a dry year? So I guess my question is:

What has caused this and how can I fix it?

I've noticed recently the sound of water running in my tub (it really sounds like hissing, not water running). There is NO water anywhere. I've checked the panel behind the tub and there is no leak, no dampness, and the sound is more faint. I have no water dripping, and the faucets are tightly shut. If I put my ear to the faucets, I can hear it stronger. I am on the top floor of a condo. This sound is constant, and not due to neighbors bathing. The neighbors below have not complained of a leak. It seems the noise is growing stronger daily now. I can't figure it out. Any ideas?

This is a central air conditioner unit, not a window unit. I would like to extend its life if possible, but I am not sure if covering it with a tarp or similar material is actually recommended. Please advice.

I have just acquired from a friend his refridgerator, however it is not working. I plug it in, silence, the interior light is on, therefore I know it is not the power source, nor is it the cord to the fridge. What might be wrong, and how can I fix it? (Neither the fridge nor freezer work)

Now, when I turned them on, they are dripping. My plumbing was installed 2 years ago and everything is pretty new. The nipple which holds the faucet handle is impossible to turn in any direction and water is dripping from it. How can I tighten is?Would it work if I just put silicon around it to stop water? I know that's the best is to call plumber, but they charge so much even for little things. Please ,advise.

We live in a harsh winter location and snow sits on the deck all winter long. I do an annual recoat with semi transparent stain. My wife says spring is better-the deck will look nice while we use it the most. I have been doing it in the fall on the theory of providing maximum water repellency for the winter. And we have dogs who run on the deck all summer long, scrathcing it with their nails.

You can purchase a service wherein a plumber type comes out, cleans your main line drain with a rotor blade, then runs a small video camera through the house lateral line down to the main sewer line in the street. It makes a video of the inside of your sewer pipes and let you see if there are leaks and damaged areas and so on.
If you know about this let me know if you think it worked well for you and was worth the cost, roughly what you paid and any cautions or things I might need to be aware of etc.? Thanx!
