You can prevent a fungus clog by simply pouring a cup of household bleach into the line from the inside. To remove a clog once it has occurred, attach a wet/dry vacuum to the drain line outside (removing the paper filter first) and suck the clog out.

It really doesn't matter how much you pour in,,,, as long as you pour in at least a cup. It isn't going to hurt anything if you pour in a whole bottle. It may kill the grass or plant where it drains out. Mine drains out under the foundation so I don't have that problem.

Its not "fungus" that you are peventing, its "mold".
Mold is prevelent around most moist things, as algae is also. You may be referring to the algae, as that is what clogs up most things, and I will tell you, that algae will 'LIVE' in chlorinated water...(I worked at a waste water treatment plant for 26 years, and we had it growing in our chorination tanks, which held a lot of chlorine in solution).
Best way is to take it off, once a season, and clean the pipes if your that worried about it.
I wish you well..
