I have a bunch of electric fan heaters standing around, the 2000W-type. I noticed the other day that they collect a lot of vile-looking dustbunnies on their air intakes, and I'd hate to think what they spew out all day long (must be the place to be if you're a germ!).

Now I'm hoping to kill all the germs by spraying medical alcohol disinfectant into the air intakes, but how long do I need to wait before it's all evaporated? These things would become flame throwers if it isn't all dried off.

Or does anyone have a better idea (please don't say "buy another type of heater", because I can't).

Thanks.

the garage door opens with remote and wall unit, but you cannot close it with the remote and it only closes when you press the button on the wall unit and you cannot release it until it closes. The green and yellow sensors are out and the wires are connected, What cab be wrong with it?

When running water from the sink it ends up filling up the bath tub. I guess both are connected. The toilet works fine as does every other drain in my home

My husband and I just purchased our first home, and it needs some work, mostly small, but a couple of big things too... We need to replace the roof, as most of the trusses were built with 2x2's and could use to be beefed up. We're also looking into the possibility of re-pouring the basement floor, which is concrete, but would give us the opportunity to replace some aging plumbing, etc. In addition, we need to replace most of the drywall in the home, as there's no insulation in any of the exterior walls. Where should we begin, and what are we looking at spending on each of these projects? It's a single story 1200 square foot house with a simple gabled roof... nothing fancy.

I would feel inclined to spray medicinal grade alcohol disinfectant into its workings, but something tells me that would turn it into a flame thrower. I am doing this because anything that blows air accumulates massive amounts of germs and then blows them out big time. Any ideas? What could I do without torching the house?

I have a Poulan 14in chainsaw and the cutting edge is extremely dull. It's the first time I've owned a chainsaw and I don't know how to sharpen the blade myself nor do I know where to take the saw to have it sharpened.

I essentially don't want to cut a hole into the roof or soffit. Is it OK if I just direct the pipe to the soffit or area in the roof where a while is already there. Assuming i'ts such a small amount of air it will just disapate....

my brand new ceiling fan fell off the ceiling (don't ask) and broke right where the blade attaches to the fan. It is a metal fan blade attachment that broke. its not a normal looking piece and it sort of art deco looking. i asked someone to weld it, he told me he couldn't since it was chrome. i've looked high and low and can't find the part. the website tells me to go to home depot (apparently thier only retailer). home depot only sells standard fan blade attachments and not one like this one. anyone know what i could do besides buying another fan? it was a pretty expensive fan and was beautiful.

I had a bathroom added 8 months ago. From the start everytime you turn the faucets on in the bathroom, the water comes out white and bubbly for the first 2-3 sconds on both sinks. Do I have a problem? Please advise.

Now i have several spots of pine tree gum on my car, which melted and dried tightly on the surface of my car hood. I tried to wash it out with different cleaning supplies, but it seems stronger than glass. I thought to scrape it away with something sharp, but I'm afraid to scretch car paint. What can I use to remove it safely?
