The thing is, I painted the ivy already up top in the room. So, I'm looking for a dainty little flower... Morning Glories may do (I'm not a huge flower person, but I'd like to be authentic)... but I'm using purple or maybe dusty rose (color) in the room.
Any simple flower that looks good with ivy will do!
Thanks!

We planted them about 3 weeks ago, and right after we planted them we trimmed them up. At first they looked great, but now they're turning brownish and the leaves are curling up.

They are still at least 3/4 green, but the August heat has been brutal. I have started trying to water them every day, twice a day if I remember, but I'm wondering if I continue to water them really really well if I can save them? Is there a way to tell if they're too far gone? Is there any food or anything they need?

Someone please help of I'm going to lose 8 beautiful nice sized boxwood bushes!!! (They are about 3 feet diameter) Also, we live in Ohio.

This is what happen. I have a pool in my backyard. The pervious owners broke a oval circle in the concrete to install the pool on the dirty instead of just installing it on top of the concrete. So I have a gap between the pool and the rest of the concrete. So when it rains the water just backs up in that gap instead of heading to the drains on both sides of the pool. Anyone know if I can fill that gap with rocks and hope the water will go towards the drains? If not rocks anyone have any ideas what I can do?

I have been preparing for a summer wedding all year but now I will not be able to have my wedding until late October, early November 2007 because I can't get my fiance here until then because of visa technicalities. I was wondering what kinds of plants and flowers are available for that time of year? I know florists can get you just about anything but I am working with a smaller budget and was thinking about buying potted plants and flowers from a nursery to add greenery and color. The wedding will be outside so I need some plants to liven up our garden that will be mostly dormant by that time. This has been very last minute news and I have no idea what to do. Any suggestions?

I am growing Cantaloupe in my garden for the first time. I have a smooth, dark green, oblong shaped cantaloupe growing and I don't know why it is this color or shape. It is 1 of 2 that look like this on the same vine. There are other fruits on this vine that are "american cantaloupe" color and shape (round, tan, with netting appearance) Does anyone know if these are just poor growing fruit or not? Why do they have this color and appearance?

Thank you

I have climbing rose plants that I don't want. I live in San Francisco, CA. Is there some sort of neighborhood garden or org. who will accept these plants as a donation? No need for a receipt, I just want them to go to a new home. Thanks.

I live in San Francisco, CA and I read somewhere that rose plants should be cut down once a year. My question is when? How much should I cut too? Thank you.

(These aren't tiny little spiders either. They are big and brown and everywhere. Maybe brown recluse?)

Any suggestions or tips on how to ensure their survival?

I have a small trimming from each (about a foot or so long). They are in seperate vases in about 2 inches of water. Inside my garage(not air conditioned) but in a window sill with sunlight aplenty.

What else should I do for them? I would like to plant them in the front of my yard as they both have beautiful colors.

Also, how long do you think it will take them to start to root, and when they do start, how long before I put them into a pot of soil? Or will I have time to put them straight into the ground this year?

Wow, about 4 questions and it only cost me 5 points!

Our lawn is starting to get some other type of grass growing and we can't figure out what it is. I took pictures of it and was wondering if someone can identify it and if so how to get rid of it. We think it is crabgrass, but not sure. Our original grass is tall fescue.

Here are the flickr pictures with the unidentified grass being highlighted:

Please help me identify it so that I know how to care for it. It has beautiful small pink flowers and "tentacles" with narrow pods at the ends. It smells exactly of marijuana but it obviously isn't.
