I never heard of anyone marketing rainwater.

If you have your own home, you may want to get a large plastic drum and alter a downspout on your house to fill the barrel whenever it rains. If you can add a spigot near the bottom of the barrel it beats having to dip[ the water out.

There are a few caveats to rain barrels:
1 - Mosquitoes will find it, and you will have to take measures against them.
2 - When it does not rain, you will still have to use tap water.
3 - When it rains too much, you will need an overflow system to get the excess water away from the house.
4 - The barrel will have to be cleaned out periodically, leaves, bugs, little critters, scum, etc.

I tried this at my old house, and it really didn't seem to be worthwhile.

If you fear tap water, just pour it into jugs for a few days to release any chemicals. Your plants don't need expensive bottled water imported from Texas or out of country.

I just moved from SW Austin next to Dripping Springs and had no idea they were trying to sell rainwater from the scrubby hills for $35 for 12 bottles plus shipping!

This is the first time it has rained much in 4 years.....but this is a ridiculous price for watering plants.

unless you live somewhere extremely dry, you should probably just get a water barrel type thing. I'm not sure if rainwater is available for purchase, but you can purify any water by boiling it. you could also try an organic/health store for organic water or a plant nursery.

Rainwater comes from the sky;-} it's usually free.
Get a water barrel to collect from your downspout.
If you live in an apartment, buy bottled spring water.

put out a barrel and collect it for free but be careful where you put it as standing water attracts mosquitoes increasing the risk for exposure to west nile virus
or better yet attach a barrel or plastic trash can with a cover( make a hole in the cover and slide drain pipe thu) to the drain on your house water and put a few drops of bleach in it to prevent odor and bacterial growth( it will not hurt the plants)
you still have to clean it out at intervals but it will keep mosquitoes dirt and leaves from falling in
then just slide the cover up and dip the watering can in the barrel

What you could do is buy a rain barrel and collect the rainwater yourself. This is more cost-efficient in the long run.
