Sorry about the tree we lost 5 this year.

Climate plays a deciding role when determining the appropriate planting time. Newly planted trees do best when exposed to moderate temperature and rainfall and they need time to root and acclimatize before the onset of intense heat and dryness of summer or the freezing temperatures of winter. Spring and fall, therefore, are generally the best planting seasons. In the southern United States, however, which do not experience an intense winter, planting can take place during the winter months. Palm trees are an exception: they are best planted in the warmer, summer months.

Summer isn't a good time to plant trees or much of anything else. The heat causes them to die before the root system can get settled in good. It is best to plant trees in the mid to late fall or very early spring. By the time hot weather comes along, the roots have become strong and the plant will survive better.

It could be that there some kind of pests inform of animals under or nearby the soil. see and check? Sometimes we do plant tree's in a place where were supposed to not plant it. If that tree's direction was plant in somewhat sun and somewhat shady that could be another problem.
But if it is a certain animal go look for ants, Or bugs or tree bugs.
