I was given a large box of tulips (100 bulbs) from a well intending friend. I know nothing about tulips other than the fact that they are very pretty when planted in close, large groups. I need any help you can give on successful tulip growing!

Is there a particular kind of grass to use, and what's the best method to do this project from start to finish? I already have a lawn, but it's pretty much half dead/brown. Ultimately, I want a really lush and thick, but short lawn, similar to that of a putting green.

This plant was bought for my grandmother several years ago when she was very ill. We bought it, and forgot its name, if we ever knew it. It's in rather bad shape, and has been re-potted recently. Some pictures: http://s82.photobucket.com/albums/j249/BPlantaJulii/?action=view¤t=100_0545.jpg http://s82.photobucket.com/albums/j249/BPlantaJulii/?action=view¤t=100_0542.jpg

Any help would be very appreciated. :)

I have a bouganvillea and a princess flower that were damaged by below-freezing temperatures (in CA). Should I cut off the branches that look dead, and how far? or should I wait until the spring?

I have many stray dogs that come into my yard and like to urine on my plants. I have heard that a male dog's urine hurts and maybe kills the plants. Is this true? I would like any information on this topic and if any; sites that would explain this. Thanks!

It resembles something from the cabbage family, only the leaves are purple at the edges. I wish I had a photo to show you. Sound familiar? Anybody know what it is, and can you provide me with links to picxtures, so I can verify this? Also, (and this is the whole point) is it safe for homeless people, whom I have seen eating it?

Appreciate the help!

First- I know nothing about gardening!
So, can anyone with experience in gardening in the Northeast US (Boston) give any advice as to what I could plant alongside a chain link fence to eventually provide privacy between our yard and our neighbor's (ugly) yard in the spring and summer? Preferably something that I could plant in spring and have a full cover by the following summer (if not sooner)?

I have seen other posts and seen recommendations for morning glory but no details as to how fast this grows, how well it covers and whether it can stand our climate here.

Thanks for any advice!
