I want to leave flowers on the hood of my girlfriends car for when she gets off work, but it happens to be 10 degrees outside, and I was wondering how long they would be able to sit there and survive?

My husband and I are planning to put in a privacy fence. I want to dig up my nikko blue hydrangeas and put them in front of the privacy fence. Bad thing is that we are doing the fence very soon, and the hydrangeas are already starting to bud out with new growth. Will being moved kill them?

I was given an orchid (not sure what kind) but it had tiny 'tiger striped' flowers - they have died and the 'flower branch' is brown - do I cut that? the leaves are green so don't believe it's dead but do I trim off th dead flower stem and will it grow back? (It's a 1800 flower kinda orchid) thanks

My grass isn't just the typical yellow from the winter cold, it is dead, really dead. I added Scotts Turf Bulider (per the "specialist" at the garden store) to try and make it green. It says that I should see results in 6 days. It's been 10 and nothing at all. I want to make replanting as a last resort.

My garden is not very big, but needs changing slightly so that I can still cope with it now that my health is worse, so I am replacing climbers with small to medium shrubs, also having fewer bedding plants, planting perenials instead: I need to kill of the roots of climbers, they will shoot again from the very small amount still left above ground (I know because I tried just cutting them hard back earlier) the problem is that I really need to be able to re-plant fairly quickly with shrubs in the same area, so whatever I use must be fast acting, but also become safe quickly once it has done the job.
Thank you in advance for any help and advice you can give.

I grow tomatos in 5 gallon buckets, I've always had very successful luck. Just your opinion which is better, 13-13-13 or cow manure, or would it be better to use both?

I have 6 apple trees that need pruning badly, and was wondering if now would be a good time to do it. Half of what I can find says winter and the other half says late fall or early spring.

I have a rooftop garden with 18 hibiscus plants in pots. The pots are not too large though. The plants are almost 2 years old. I do get flowers from most of the plants on a daily basis. However, the plants look barren and the leaves are very small and very few. When I see other potted hibiscus plants in other houses, I find them leafy. Please advise

I want to plave the whole of my garden which is small and about 45ft and the width of a normal semi. There is a small paved area near the back door already. I weant to extend it because we have 3 large dogs and they bring so much mud in, The lawn is ruined and they dig up earth from the containers. Before I start getting quotes from gardeners I would like an idea of what I might expect to pay. I live in Herts
