I live in Georgia, when should I plant grass seed? How should I go about doing it? My backyard is pretty bare-lots of trees and lots of shade. What is the best type of grass to plant? I have two large dogs that play pretty rough, is there any type of grass that would be durable? Help!!

I know worms are beneficial but that's in the right place, not burrowing through the spuds.

I need help to identify a bird that has been frequenting my winter feeder. It sort of looks like a white breasted nuthatch, but it's body seems more solid dark gray and it has a yellow beak. It is rather roundish, with a bright white belly. Any ideas? I get 5 to7 visiting my feeder at a time--they arrive in a group. They seem to be at my feeder at the same timeas the black capped chicadees.

I bought a small poinsettia for Christmas, and I am surprised it has last this long. It is losing leaves but the stalks still seem good and green. And so instead of throwing it out, I was looking to bring it back to health and keep it year long.

Do you have any tips for taking care of a poinsettia and bringing it back to health? Watering, plant food, light? Amounts?

I've already checked the Wikipedia site, so please reference other pages. Thanks for your help.

I have a house situated on 3000 sq meters of lawn that I
have to maintain, any suggestions how I can eliminate
some of the lawn in some type of landscape so that I
will not have so much grass to cut. I have trees and small
plants, and the plants are in a plant bed in the front of
my porch, but there is just so much grass to cut all around
the house I want to cut less, how can I do it. TKS.

I live in a condo here in San Diego, and all the little old ladies with their lap dogs come and use my condos lawn to relieve their dogs. Don't get me wrong, I was raised with dogs as pets, and I love all of them...however, my grass looks like **** (litterally) and we pay to maintain the landscapeing.
It's a pretty good sized lawn. Any suggestions???
Thanks ahead of time for you help,
Geoff

I really don't know much about gardening and I'm just wondering if I can take a cutting of a rosemary plant and get it to grow? I know you can do this with certain types of plants but I can't remember the rule.
