If you are allowed to, maybe you can plant some small shrubs along your border. Shrub roses would be nice and they have thorns. Short ornamental grass or small hedges would work too. I live on a corner and know all about it. Between the dogs and the cross traffic our yard was always "invaded". We planted hedges all around our property. They are not fully grown yet but the visual border is enough to keep people and people walking dogs moving on to somewhere else. Good Luck to You!!! :)

Put the "waste" back in their yard. Get a good video camera and catch them in the "act" and call authorities.....especially if they are off leash.
If you are able to get your hands on some Habenero or other VERY hot peppers, place them in the yard where the "deed" is done to deter them. Also can use chicken wire on the ground to help stop the pesky scratching that goes along with the "deed" and some clear plastic forks places tine side up should do the trick.
Also effective is a motion sensor that alerts you and neighbors to their presence...and they will know you are watching.
Have you tried asking them politely to go somewhere else?

I suggest a novel idea -- ask them to not do so. You can do this verbally or a small, tasteful sign on the grass, such as "Curb your dog" or "Please keep Fido off the grass".
I'm thinking that your grass looks terrible due to either turd piles or urine burns. Each are different things. The urine burns might be hard to get rid of, a fence aside. The turd piles are probably well managed through careful policing of the yard. A picture, time and date-stamped of the offender offending is ample evidence to provide to the HOA or police to catch the offender's master ... most cities have a curbing law with a fine, which you have to push to impose. Good luck!

Try talking to the ladies when you see them, and politely tell them that while their dogs are very cute, they are killing your grass with their urine. If that doesn't work, I'd talk to management about the problem (if the offenders live in the same complex). Last resort, you might have to contact the authorities to enforce your local pet laws (In my city, it's technically illegal to let your pet urinate or deficate on people's lawns).

buy a statue of a BIG Rottweiler and put it by the sidewalk with a chain tied to a broken stick. If you can find one that looks like he is sleeping, all the better. NO little old lady in her right mind would walk spunky next to a dog that big.
(other than that, short of standing out front all day long to ask them to please pick up their dog waste, I don't think you have many alternatives)

Sprinkle dried hot pepper flakes on the area being abused and the perimeter. You will have to do this a couple of times a week but they will find another place to poo. Plus, it is funny to watch poodles sneeze for a minute straight!

do you have an HOA? if not, might be worth it to spend $50 on some signs that say to pick up after your dog! or you could collect it all, and return it to them. tell them fido dropped it on your lawn and you wanted to make sure it got back to him!
