1. Use organic products on your gardens instead of pesticides.
2. Ride a bicycle or walk for short nearby errands.
3. Car pool with a coworker to save fuel.
4. Insulate your home as well as possible/cover windows with plastic in the winter to save fuel.
5. Install fluorescent light bulbs to conserve electricity.
6. Plant trees and shrubs to help filter the air.
7. Save your rainwater to water plants and lawn with (Kits can be purchased from most gardening catalogs)
8. Compost your veggie and fruit scraps, egg shells, coffee grounds, paper etc rather than throwing in trash for the landfill.

While these techniques are earth friendly, I don't have any suggestions for saving us from a nuclear attack...

One very good way is to start using the 3 Rs. Reduce, reuse and recycle. Try walking more, driving less. Car pool. Weather proof your home. Stop filling in lakes, swamps and other water. Where does this displaced water go? Eventually to the ocean and we wonder why its getting higher. Most important is to stop the clear cutting of trees. The sooner people realize that trees are our best friends, the better off we will be. Trees do a lot for us. They clean the air, they give us shade and food. The root systems hold the water in the ground and keep the ground from eroding. Even lumber can be recycled. Old bricks can be used for walkways and walls rather then go in the landfill. If every town had a free cycle site, so many things would end up be re-used rather than in the landfill. A free cycle site is a place where you can list things that you are looking for or want to get rid of for free.
If we all started doing these few things, it would make a big difference in our world.

Save the human race, the earth can take care of itself and has been for a very long time. Follow the golden rule and treat others the way youd like to be treated and the earth will be a better place. Having worked in the green buisness for the last 30 years I feel comfortalble that Mother Nature has things under control. Humans are the things out of wack and needing help!!

Try xeriscapng your yard, using water-saving plant species native to your part of the world. Thoroughly insulate your house and look into solar energy as a fuel-saving alternate energy source. If they're within 5 miles of where you live, bicycle or skate to school, work, etc instead of driving a car.

Oh, and quit supporting conservative political candidates. They are all in the back pockets of corporations who do not care about saving the earth.

By teaching your kids how to respect the earth. By getting earth friendly people into office at every level.....by conserving resources and learning to use solar and other sources of energy.

We need to ask congress for more tax breaks for conservation tools versus big oil company tax breaks!

We need to use less water, use less oil and give financing to companies who are trying to find alternative fuels.

In the book of Revelations the Bible says that both Heaven and earth will burn up with fervent heat, when JESUS comes back to judge the earth. I hope you have a personal relationship with JESUS CHRIST today. We will be judged for every decision we make so PLEASE read it for yourself, and be ready for the Son of man to come back. GOD Bless you Today
