I want to leave flowers on the hood of my girlfriends car for when she gets off work, but it happens to be 10 degrees outside, and I was wondering how long they would be able to sit there and survive?

not long at all in that temp. they should look ok for up to an hour, but more than that and they will freeze solid and likely loose all their petals, even if brought indoors...

thats my guess.

Better to give them to her indoors.

They would not survive. Think about the cooler which hold flowers in a flower shop or think about your fridge. If you put flowers in anything colder than that, they are going to die pretty quickly, especially if it gets near freezing.

Give the flowers directly to your girlfriend, either at work or at her home. She might even like to have the flowers at her place of work to show her friends.

No cut flowers that I know of can withstand freezing weather for any amount of time. Potted plants have slightly better chances. Plants in the ground may survive a winter if there is plenty of snow. If not, and the temps. plunge they can die of dehydraton and frost bite..
