I would like a few different evergreen trees planted in my front yard to decorate during Christmas. I would like to keep them pruned down to 6 - 8 feet in height.
What trees will withstand this pruning and still look great and stay healthy? I live in N/W Indiana.

Help. Every spring, my flowering pear loses all of its leaves after they get dark spots on them. Then the leaves grow back. Sometimes it will lose all its leaves twice in a season. We have a lot of tree frogs and toads and I don't want to harm them with poisons. Any suggestions? Thanks.

My inlaws have about 5 huge pines and around 10 oak trees that need to be removed but they cannot afford to pay a removal service. Are there companies or small lumber businesses that will either remove the trees free of charge or even pay a small amount to have the lumber?

We have had a lot of rain recently, but this is a slow moving river. There is a lot of vegetation around it too. How can the mosquito population be controlled, without destroying the surrounding houses or poisoning the river? The mosquito population has EXPLODED recently!

My orchids live outdoors and survive winters down to 25 degrees. They have 12 - 16 in. leaves and 2 in. white flowers with purple in the center and yellow spots. I believe they are terrestrial orchids and like the rich organic soil benieth my oak trees. They multiply quickly and require little maintenance.

It's a pretty tall one (~12 feet high). The nuts are just starting to show up & the squirrels are aready eating them. I've tried a couple of store bought repellants, but they don't work. I'm also trying a water & cayanne (sp?) pepper mix.

I'd rather not have to shoot them, but I'm running out of ideas.

I got my husband all the equipment to build a small fish pond in our yard about 3 years ago. We have large breed goldfish type? fish in it and it is constantly dirty. He cleans the pump out weekly because it gets clogged. The water is so dirty you cant see 4 inches down. We have tried draining it and scrubbing the liner with a brush (no soap or chemicals though) and every type of algea chemical we can find but nothing has helped. Instead of the beautiful pond I wanted him to have it is a nastly puddle. Help!
