Building a barbecue island and using Hardibacker board. I know this will take Thin Set but am not sure if Stucco can adhere directly to it. No one will give me a direct answer. Hardibacker board company says to consult the stucco manufacutuer.

I don't want to hassle with a metal mesh if I don't have to. My assumption is if I use concrete adhesive and then stucco, it should be fine but want answers from people that know or have done this.

we have roaches all in our kitchen and they were here before we moved in. we have been living here for over a year and in the past month have had roaches taking over our kitchen at night. i've woken up a couple of times and started spraying them with lysol and it killed them. i just need to know what to do to keep the population down and then completely gone. we live in an older house built in the mid 1900's. i've never had a roach problem anywhere before. we also live in florida if this might help. please help us get rid of the bugs for good. thank you. we just need to know what more we can do.

I have a Triton Delta Shower Unit. Cannot say exactly which model but it is about 12 years old. The unit works perfectly but the hose has been snapped off today giving my basta*d dog a wash.

The connecton between the hose and the unit has snapped and i don't know if i need to get a whole new unit or if i can simply attach a new hose to the exisiting unit. The reason i cannot be sure is that i can see no way of removing the cover of the unit or even removing the unit itself but then i am somewhat of useless donkey with DIY or anything like that. It doesn't help that my mum is away and will go totally mental when she returns next week!!

Any insight into how i may be likely to fix this or even a point in the direction of a helpful website will make me sleep a lot easier and will ensure i do not end up with a black eye in a week's time!

I'm using a scrap piece to hammer the boards together for a tight fit but obviously I can't do that with the last few boards up agains the wall. I also can't remove the tongue because the boards need the support (38mm shed flooring so not too strong).

I am thinking of using soem small bungie cords to help attach to my fairing
The poncho thing needs to be able to fold into a small package and be somewhat flexable hopefully.

Is there is something I can coat a spandex type material to make it waterproof .

Any ideas would be helpful.

The bike is a Vision R42 with a zipper fairing.

So I have a nice computer in my garage (I basically live out of the garage), I bought an Uninterrupted Power Supply for it, and it works fine. Then, I moved the computer to another location in the garage, now the UPS has a light that lights ups saying "faulty ground wire." I looked at the outlet, it has 3 plugs, I even tried a different outlet from the same location, same problem. I thought it was no big deal, so I used it. A while ago, I took the casing off of the computer for better cooling, and here's the problem. Whenever I touch the bare metal on the casing I would get shocked, and I plugged in my PDA into the computer's USB cable, if I touch my metal PDA I get shocked too. So how to fix this issue with the ground wire? I read that one way is to drill a copper rod (grounding rod?) into the ground and attach the ground wire into that one. Is this how it is done?

I am putting up crown molding and I want to use a nail gun. I also want to get an air compressor that is not too cheap that I can put in my work shop for future projects. I may do some roofing in the future. What type of air compressor should I get? What type of nail gun for the crown molding? I am on a budget. So I don't want to spend any more than I have to.

my stupid flatmate blew the light bulb recently and noones changed it.
i tried to tonight, but i tried one with a pointed end that u ccan screw in, and it didnt fit.
i can see two prongs inside the bit the hangs down, so i tried one with two flat bits on the end, and it lit up but i cant screw it in as it has no twisty bits so allow me to screw it in.
do i need to buy a bulb with two flat bits and a twisty bit? is there a name for this? ergh i sound so dumb.

I've seen them used plenty so I think I know what to cut to achieve what I need.

thanks.

How effective is caulking your windows shut for the winter compared plastic-ing the windows?

Putting the plastic up is a pain in my azz so I am trying to find alternatives, I am curious of caulking the opeinings and seams and cracks unitl i need to open them in the spring. Is there that much heat loss through the window pane itself? I assume the cold forces its way into the house via small openings in the entire casement. What do you think?
