Initially I think you can assume NOT a petroleum based product; and likely not any Vegetable oil either.

The notion is obvious. Something that burns clean; with little or no residue; and something that has no smell of it's own to detract from any essential fragrances.

Olive oil burns at a decrease temperature and you gets multiple smoke, pluse olive oil has a fragrance of its very own that probable might mess with the fragrance you're attempting to have.
