It's such a cute hog, with a cute pink snout, and I can't make myself to break it! And it's full.

I use to use a flat blade knife ( butter knife ) to get my money out without breaking it. Turn it upside down...put the knife blade in coin slot and wiggle it back and forth in slot....money should start to fall out. Make sure the blade is not too thick so it won't block the coins from slipping out next to blade. Only other way is to get a glass drill bit and drill small holes in a circle so as to make a hole in the bottom of pig....1 - 1/4 inch should be large enough.

Both 1 & 2 offer valid suggestions, but there really is no guaranteed way to do the task beyond a hammer.

Obviously the pig is some clay medium; and to drill; even using concrete bits might crack it.

No offense meant at all; but isn't that pretty much the idea of a bank with no way to access the money? Hopefully there is more in there than the pig cost. OR you might just hold onto it for some day when you truly are in need; and start saving your coins in some other kind of container.

I love the philosophy and theory behind such a bank however. They weren't designed to be raided...Smile.

You might attempt the butter knife to release some of the coin then just shake.

I wish you well.

well if you need that money and it doesnt have a rubber stopper on his belly then you have two options.

1. bust that fat boy open

2. get a drill and start with a sort of small bit and work your way up to bigger bits (the big bit may break it if its pottery) you can use the bits to make the hole big enough for coins to come out. then get you some tape, a piece of cork, or rubber stopper for his belly and next time no worries. ;o)

Before you break this pig, see if you can find the identical one on E-bay. That way you won't feel so bad.
