putting in a "on demand hot water heater" it takes a separate box of 3- 40 amps breakers. I need to go to the main box with "what gauge wire"?
Do I need to install a breaker in the main box as well? If so what amp breaker should it be? The boxes are approximately 15' apart.

Yesterday I did a job on a brand new home, just a simple lock change. When I pulled the lock apart, I pointed out to the home owner the builder still had his master key in there. In fact, there was still at least 20 different keys that fit the lock. This can be scary.

When you purchase your home, please make the call to a locksmith and get the locks changed. It would cost less then $100, and give you a ton of relief. Yes, I am a locksmith, but this is just a public service announcement.

My house is ~75 years old. The ducts are original, likely over-sized (they are HUGE), and the worst part is that I bang my head on them all of the time. Rather than have them running past the front of the cellar stairs, I will re-route them around back so I can stand up straight in my basement. Additionally, the basement is always very warm in the winter and cold in the summer (due to air loss from the ducts, not due to being a basement). Also, the return ducts are nothing more than tin sheets over 2 adjacent floor joists (seems I could do better ducting them properly).

So, my question really is, do I need a professional, or can I do a fine job on my own with off-the-shelf duct parts? I don't have access to a break, so I would not be doing any fabricating.

The extra value I would get from having a basement that is more functional to me (i.e., no more "head banging") along with the savings in heat/ac could justify hiring a professional if necessary. Thanks!

I keep seeing in stores the type of drapes that just are on the rods that slide back and forth (like a shower curtain). I have an extremely large window treatment in my living/dining room and wondering if I should replace it with the rod system.

It seems to be a cheaper and easier do-it-yourself solution (I originally had my existing curtains custom-made years ago -- $$$$!), but I don't know if it is appropriate. I don't want to look cheap or take away from the rest of the room. The window is definitely one of the focal points of the house and want to match its "grandness" with the right treatment.

Living in Az towards the end of the day the sun beats down on my office, combine that with the space heater I call a pc and the fact that the room is the furthest from the ac unit and I am flat out boiling.

Suggestions?

first off, it's not your average boring cardboard sign written with black sharpie saying "garage sale..(address)"

It's neon colored signed with paint and borders made of yard/string/buttons/glitter/ fabrics/spray pain/
and we are putting up like 6 around my neighborhood..

so far i put "HUGE garage sale
(address&DATE)
everything for sale, cheap, new and exiting! "

haha so corny. ^6.6>..

any new idea?? ? ?
:o) xoxoxoxo

thanks

Would you pay for someone to take all those boxes and zip lock bags of photos you have laying around and turn them into beautiful organized photo albums or scrap books? And how MUCH would you pay? I'm thinking cost of materials and maybe something per hour for labor, or an estimate for each job? What do you think? Thanks!
