I need to know how to drill for the logs and the best way to make the tenons i dont have much to work with and not alot of money to spend on tools .

Best may be relative to what you've explained for a budget and tools.

I'll assume that in some respects this may be a bit primitive? Not knowing your thought about aesthetics.

First perhaps; might be to have the size in mind, and create a framework for a box spring or mattress that may be inside the actual LOG portion of the bed.

The "Female" can be created with paddle bits/ hole saw bits, and/or chisels.

The "Male" can be creatd with a saw for the purpose, depending on the TYPE of wood the logs are, and/or a hatchet and again, chisels to refine that part. In this case ROUND might be adequate. Pretty much like split rail/log rail fence posts.

A decent power drill, measure, chip/chisel until you have a FIT, then assemble. I'd probably also then drill prependicular holes through the assembled joint, and either glue pegs, hammered in, or use bolts.
