Thanks for all the tips. I found that the couduit elbows and t's cleaned up great with the acetone. The acetone smeared the printing on the long sections, and I could not get them clean. I didn't try scrubbing them because with the results I had, it was easier to paint over it. Thank you everyone!

Different conduits use different inks. With some, a simple solvent will work- acetone (nail polish remover), PVC cleaner, etc.

With some, mild abrasion or sanding (sand paper, steel wool, etc.) is your best bet. (Consider wearing a breathing mask to keep the dust out of your lungs.

Most PVC is difficult to clean nicely, but you can buy furniture grade PVC which is nice and white- and a bit stiffer than most plumbing grade stuff.

Acetone, but use it sparingly or it will mar the surface. Wear rubber/latex gloves and use only in a well ventilated area. Nail polish remover is mostly acetone, PVC pipe cleaner(primer) will work, but it will damage the surface (it is supposed to) and you have to make sure and get the "clear" NOT the "purple" primer

Get some PVC pipe cleaner where they sell the glue and/or pipe. It will leave an un-scratched surface and is fairly cheap.
