when people transfer their garage to a bedroom, they always leave the driveway. i mean why cant they tear it out and park on the side of the road? or maybe make a half-circle drive-way? i was just wondering b/c the houses always look funny like that!

My wife sent me to pick up some used floor tile. It still has the stuff (plaster? grout? whatever?) on the back of the tile. Can this be reused? Do I have to get the old stuff off? It is on there pretty uniformly.

I did see a few questions like this, but was no help, my problem is i have a toilet that is flushing very slowly, and if i take a crap or something it takes like 3 to 4 flushes to get rid of it. What i have tried so far was 1.) Drain cleaners. .diddnt work. 2.) plunger, two days straight, ..diddnt work, 3.) auger, diddnt work.. goes in a little, but seems like toilet doesnt go down, but goes up...hope u understand. hole heads toward fill tank.. 4.) remove toilet.. did it, and there was nothing in the way(that i saw) in the big pipe.. I'm looking to do my exhaust, price quotes from shops are so high I could buy all mandrel bent SS pipes vs aluminiumized steel pipes they'd bend in house and get a $300 welder to do it myself and pay the same.

I've seen many recommend a MIG welder for thin material and things like exhaust jobs. But is it such a drastic difference between using a MIG welder for that work vs a wire fed one? I can get a wire fed welder from Lincoln for $350 but for $100 more I can get one ready for MIG out of the box. I'd really like to get the best bang for my buck but if I can get away with the cheaper one and not have the odds stacked against me by using stick vs MIG to weld the pipes that would be great.

So my question is should I just pay more and get the MIG because it is much more suited to this type of work, Stainless steel exhaust pipe welding or can I do as good a job with the wire fed welder?

Two models I'm looking at from Homedepot.com model#K2189-1 and model#K2190-1(mig ready)

We are middle unit condo originally built in 1904. My newish toilet flange leaked due to toilet bolts being loose, need to replace rotted subfloor, new tile and new wax flange. Need to keep original lead sewage pipe. How do I prep he surface? Any tricks at getting remaining old wax off? Any special prep or ticks in laying new one in? What should I look for to determine if lead pipe needs to be replaced? Bottom unit ceiling is open for several days so want to do all possible upgrades but don't want to be wasteful. Appears joints in lead sewage pipe are not to code and are steel, not rubber. How bad is that?
Any and all help for all these questions greatly appreciated.

Okay well, I had put wall paper on my wall about .. 6 years
ago? But I put it on really old paint, so that screwed me up.
Now I can't get it off the wall?
Is there any way to make it simple, I tried clothes softener and water, put that made the paint come off some places so now it's not going to be smooth

The tiles are white and very large, and the lines inbetween them are really unsightly - they're very dark and show up, even though they're very thin. I think it's mostly because of the colour of the tiles. Is there a product that will be able to seal these tiny gaps?
