LENGTH plus load pretty much equal resistance; and effectiveness. My DRYER works fine on its OWN 30 AMP breaker, and I do have 40 amp as well; but as single use items; it seems unneccesary. There isn't strictly any danger involved and you might notice under heavy loads the breaker is tripped? So upgrade the breaker at that point. You might consider that 6 ft. also sold; is acceptable, and maybe re-locate the dryer to better accomodate the existing receptacle?

The length of the cord is immaterial if you use a cord with big enough wire. When you go to whatever store that sells cords look at the rating on the cord and get one that is at least as high as the circuit you will use it on.

I wouldn't go much more than 6'. Longer than that you'll start getting an amperage drop.
If 6' isn't long enough, you need to add or move your 220v outlet.
You also need to stick with the 30A breaker.
