When hooking up an electric cord with a wide prong and a narrow prong. How do you know with wire goes to which to which terminal on the motor? When you pull the small cover off the motor, I see 3 bolted connections. The one on the left looks like a black or dark green wire going to the motor, the middle wire is also connected to the cord, and the connection on the right has no wire going to it. It looks like a white wire goes to it from the motor. So which connection goes to the wider prong on the cord?
Thanks,
Vince

I want to run electrical out to my pole barn, about 150 feet from my house, so I can get power out there. I will then wire the pole barn with lighting and plugs. I'll want to operate a compressor out there also. What kind of underground wire do I use?

I am very capable of any home improvement type work. I have a considerable amount of money to do this with. An idea i was thinking of was to attach a large piece of plexiglass to the window sill. Because it is reasonably deep window sill, my options are pretty open.

Thanks

I'm thinking about redoing the floors in my house and don't have a lot of money to spend so I was thinking about maybe doing it myself. Have any of you redone your floor using tile or carpet/ which one was easier? did actually cost you any less in the end?

I live in a fifth wheel RV in a permanent spot and would like to replace the existing toilet with a regular house type toilet. I have a septic and a pipe open for it, but have no idea how to even start the plumbing from the rv to the septic pipe. Or what I need to change on the RV itself to make room for the new toilet. Someone said I have to take out the holding tank first, is this correct? I know somewhat how to plumb the water to the toilet, it's the pipe going out I am not sure of. Or what materials I need to get it started with. Any ideas or help would be great as I am a silly lady determined to do this myself. Thanks

I am looking to build a shelf that will wrap around 3/4 of a room. I would like it along the top. I want to be able to put fake greenery and decorations on it. I would like it almost up to the top of the wall. Any easy ways to do it and make it sturdy? Please remember when replying, i am not very handy. Thank You!

I live in South Florida, after the hurricanes of the last couple of years and other factors, I have become extremely claustrophobic. I cannot even be in an elevator anymore for more than 2 floors. The thought of being behind plywood boards for days on end, totally freaks me out; so I am looking for alternatives that are 1) inexpensive, 2) protective against flying objects and 3) allow light into the house. I have come up with the idea of vinyl lattice board, they meet all 3 of my requirements. I have looked into lexan panels and they are $4k for my home. (the dealers will do an all or nothing install).

Anyone else have any other low cost ideas? or suggestions?

OLD DRYER WAS HOOKED UP TO THE CHIMENY WHICH I READ WAS A HAZARD SO I SWITCHED IT TO AN OLD CLOSET WHICH I AM NOW REMODELING INTO A NEW LAUNDRY ROOM. THIS CLOSET IS ALSO AN OLD ADDITION TO THE HOUSE. i'VE ALREADY HOOKED UP THE PLUMBING AND THE ELECTRICAL FOR BOTH THE WASHER AND DRYER.

Usually a bibb is attached to the siding with wood screws or nails. In my situation, the water supply has to go through cinderblock. One option is to attach a piece of wood to the cinder block with masonry nails and then attach the bibb to that piece of wood. I just dont know if that will loosen up over time. Also, I dont know how good it will look.
