I have a basement apartment with small windows. I already have an air conditioner that fits in the space, but I don't know how to close it in the window. Does anyone know how to make an AC stay in a basement window?

I've been having some issues. I live next to a golf course and I like to watch Bruce Willis movies with my 7.1 surround system at full blast. However, ever time I do. Some knee-sock wearing golfer comes and complains about it being too loud and that he can't seem concentrate on his swing with how loud it is. Also these kids that live up the street keep writing dirty words on my door and putting spongebob stickers on it. I've had enough of these kids. Problem 3 is that their is this 400 pound guy who uses a credit card to break into my house everyday and sits on my couch and breaks it. I've boughten 7 couches this month but he keeps breaking them. I called the police and they couldn't fingerprint the area because he has so much grease on his hands from KFC chicken he doesnt leave any fingerprints behind. I decided to rig up an electric door mat that is soaking wet and attached to a solar panel on my roof. That way these idiots come to my hosue they get zapped. Was this a good idea?

So I have two high quality nap rollers and a polyester/nylon brush. I had lent them to a friend who didn't do a very job cleaning them. One roller has dried oil-based primer on it, while the other and the brush have dried water based paint on them. Is there any hope in saving them? I mean there's a significant amount of stuff on these. Any recommendations on cleaners/chemicals to use on them?

The fountain is a full size old hand well pump which sits on a large flat stone with a hole to resevoir pan below. Total lift is approx 36". The hand pump outlet is 1 1/2 inches in diameter into which I installed a diffuser so water should hit inside edges of outlet and fall from pump. There is a water pail hanging below which I will make leak substantially so water returns to resevoir. I am looking to achieve a natural looking discharge of water for pump as it would when pump was operated by hand.

If you were going chop a few trees by yourself, by hand (ax or chainsaw), how many trees would you have to fell to get a cord of wood? I'm assuming average size trees -- not huge redwood type! Also can you use fresh cut wood or do you have to cure it? This is for a story - I live in the desert so I don't know this stuff. Thanks!

My friend asked me to do some work on a pair of jeans of hers....I cut them into capris, cuffed and sewed them in place...replaced the pockets with cooler ones, added bondage straps and some accent studs. What would be a good price for all this?

ScareCrow from Contech keeps animals out with a wide spray, too wide, and that would prevent my cats from enjoying their own yard. I just need to route the sprinklers around the perimetry of the wooden privacy fence so when the motion sensor(s) detect them approaching the fence they will get dowsed at about 3 to 4 ft in from the fence and go back into the yard and stay home. I have contacted irrigation companies here in San Antonio but no reply yet on the motion-sensory activated part of what I want, just the sprinkler/irrigation part. I have seen motion sensors that turn on lights, open garage doors, close curtains, but other than ScareCrow I have not seen any information about tripping a sprinkler system. I have even thought about the produce section misting systems that come on intermittently. Any ideas would be very welcome.

I change my home decor a lot (probably once every two or three years), so I end up painting my bedroom dresser a lot, too. But I'm tired of using the mini roller and a few people have suggested spray painting it because it's faster. I just can't find spray paint anywhere though. I've tried home improvement stores like Home Depot and also craft stores. I haven't asked any of the employees, though. I'm sure they still make spray paint, but can someone tell me where to find some?

Thanks a bunch.

I need to level an outdoor deck beam that sits on concrete piers that have Simpson galvanized ties set into the concrete. Need to add 3/8" to 3/4" between the tie/pier and the pressure treated beam. What material is best suited to this? Galvanized plates, wood shims, etc. ?

Thanks.

Hi everyone, would anyone in the London area happen to know where I can find a decently inexpensive round glass tray for a microwave oven Daewoo?
On the eBay I can find some but they are way too pricey...I wouldn't spend more than £5 for it
Can't believe they ask for over £17 plus 6 quid postage...ridiculous!!!

the craft is a toadstool built from the large saucer that usually goes with a terra cotta flower pot. You paint it, decorate it. I have that done.
you need to get a wine bottle and a hollow pipe that is able to fit into the wine bottle for support when you put it in the ground. My problem--I can't find metal pipe 1/4 inch to fit into the opening in the bottle. maybe copper, but that is too soft and too quick to rust or rot. (the pipe and top f the bottle will be in the ground.
can anyone tell me where i can find that size of some kind of hollow pipe? pvc is not hard enough.
Or if anyone can think of anything else i can use as a pedestal for my toadstool in the yard??
thanks to anyone reading all this and trying to help.

Me and my buddies just finished bachelor padding out the house. I'm talking flat screens mounted on the wall, pool table, and best of all, our very own bar in the kitchen with a pressurized tap system. I'm just wondering how much pressure to set the regulator up with to get the best results. We've got a 10lb CO2 tank and a single half barrel. Also, if we go for quarter barrels, does the pressure need to be lowered?
