I'm black dude. The black people that haven't been brainwashed by this PC bullsh*t will tell you straight up that they are black. Too many freedom fighters fought long and hard to make sure that this word was not something to be ashamed of. Now some white liberal or a sold out black "leader" wants to turn back the hands of time and make black a shameful word again. It's ironic the way history repeats itself. I use "take a shower" to indicate standing there and washing on purpose. I reserve "have a shower" for an unexpected occasion when a sprinkler goes off in a building and soaks us bystanders.

Take a shower. It means that you should go and shower. "Have a shower" would imply that your are being give an actual shower/tub piece, and that you should accept it as a gift.

I've used '' Have a shower'' all my life, maybe it's just more common in the UK where I'm from

Most say Take a shower. But be careful,most people say they are going to go take aPi** or take a Sh**. That can get awful messy!!
