We've just moved into a house and the previous owners left an old statue of a horse jockey. He had been spray painted metallic red and using paint stripper we've managed to see what the original paint colors were. What would be the best paints to use on him now? And should we seal it as well? If so can anyone recommend a good sealer? Any help would be appreciated!!

My 3 1/2 ton A/C condenser is at least 15 years old and never has a fryon service. It is getting longer to get to the set temperature. I am thinking to add fryon myself. Is it simple?
Please advise.
Thanks...

Our new house plans call for 8 columns but we're out of money. Composite columns run from $150-$400 each and more. Thought we could make some out of 6' plastic pipe. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Somehow I got roped in to hosting a friend's birthday party at my house - and she found a band who wants to play. The band doesn't have a drum set (just guitar, keyboards, and bass). I believe the dB limit is 65 after 10 pm.

In the past we have had parties with fairly loud music and minimal complaints from neighbors if we turn the bass down just a little. As it is, our house retains sound pretty well - however, a live band is going to be something different entirely.

Is there a way to reduce the noise escaping the house that we can set up and take down fairly easily?

We're handy but first timers. We're looking at Boulder Creek product line. We're considering stackable, groutless stone. We have a gas fireplace, framed-out by wood and 5/8 sheetrock. Boulder Creek directions state layout black rosin paper, 3/4 wire lathe, scratch coat on top and mortar to install stone. Will this process adhere to sheetrock? Should we use wonderboard instead?
