My husband and I have really nice/old hardwood floors thoughout our house. Well we also have this really big queen size bed in our bedroom. Its a really huge heavy bed. Well it moves a little bit across the room, and we have to move it back. Well we thought that we were fine with the center posts because we had them on a foam padding, well this morning I decided to see how it looked and well it had scratched up the floor where the three center post (under the bed in the middle) are. It scratched up and dug into the wood. We want to fix this ourselves, without having to call someone in or removing the boards that were damaged. Does anyone have any idea on how we could fix this? After it is fixed we plan on putting a rug underneath the bed to keep it from doing this again. But we would like to fix the floors back to normal? Thanks

Should I build the cubicle wall in plasterboard or use plywood before the final step of tiling? In the event of a breakdown in grouting which would give the most protection from leakage and swelling?

I am building a log home several miles from the nearest power hookup. It will take nearly $30,000 to run power to my homesite. Solar appears to be a viable option, if it is possible to run the whole house. I can get propane delivered if necessary, but if I can do it all with solar, I'd be more likely to go that route.

I was looking for a peep hole, and the store guy pointed me to "wide angle vieweres." They say that there are three kinds, one with a 160 degree fied of view, one with a 180 degree field of view, and one with a 200 degree field of view, but all of the packages showed a guy looking through a peephole, with about a 90 degree angle field of view labeled differently according to the package.

200 degrees? Doesn't that mean you could see backwards a little bit? Do I just not understand how these are being measured?

I want to pull 18 gauge narrow 1/4 and 1.5 inches long crown staples from wood. What is a good tool to do this. I tried my narrow nose plier but it doesn't get a good grip. Are there any other heavy duty tools or pliers that you would recommend?

I am wanting to remodel the entire bathroom. Is it okay to just do the floors and new sink cabinet, etc and then wait until later to do the tub surround area? There is also a half wall between the toilet and tub area that will probably come down during second phase. Or is it better to do it all at the same time? Why?

How does the solar panel PV system works in the Canadian winter during the snows. Will snow melt off by itself from the solar panels or certain angles I have to look into during installation. Do I have to bush off snow if I install it on the roof in the winter time.
