I was looking for a peep hole, and the store guy pointed me to "wide angle vieweres." They say that there are three kinds, one with a 160 degree fied of view, one with a 180 degree field of view, and one with a 200 degree field of view, but all of the packages showed a guy looking through a peephole, with about a 90 degree angle field of view labeled differently according to the package.

200 degrees? Doesn't that mean you could see backwards a little bit? Do I just not understand how these are being measured?

Wow bev, you don't get it at all... there are three different kinds of peep holes, which claim to have different fields of vision. I want to know what the difference between the three kinds is before I buy one. Stores tend to frown on taking merchandise out of the box, and installing it before you pay for it.

actually it shows the sides of the door, this peep hole was designed for those little ol' ladies that always seem to have bushes on the sides of the door or home, you don't see behind you obviously, but you do see a little more than 180 which is half a circle. if your door was glass than you would definately see yourself but then again why would you need a peep hole with a glass door....lol

take it out off the box. put it down do the home work go out side the door. have the lady of the house stand out side and mark on the door jamb next her her where her line of IT is and see if the level out side is the same as the level inside . that is only was to set it up. some people put them in from the standing height view that he has and drills the hole only to find out that he's looking at the top of people heads and can't see then so the height of the person addressing the door from the out side makes the decision
