I'm looking at buying a plot of land in Cornwall for a self build - where would you say is a good area to bring up 2 kids and run a business?

Do you know any good places to look for plots of land for sale? Most web sites want a subscription fee but there must be a good free alternative.

Thanks.

I put painter's tape on the ceiling to protect it and when I removed it, the paint from the ceiling came off on the tape. Now I have to repaint the ceiling and I need to know how to paint the ceiling again and not get paint on the walls. And visa versa. I have to retouch both now. Please don't tell me to use that tape again. And I also used an edger with rollers when I painted the walls, but the rollers had paint on them, so I had roller marks on the ceiling and now I have to retouch everythings.

My garden has lots of small clumps of soil surrouded with what look like ash. when crupled, the inside looks like brown compost. My plants, both inside and outside the greenhouse look like they are covered with ash, the leaves gradually turn yellow , flowers and the vegetables are affected. Is there a link? I would be grateful for ideas on what it could be and how to get rid of it. Many thanks

I live in a manufactured home and the previous owners put either wallpaper or to me it looks and feels like contact paper as a border down the middle of the walls. I been removing it with a razor blade, but it leave a sticky residue.

asking is that i am putting up a new ceiling fan up and the hole in the ceiling has to be made smaller because the hole from the previous ceiling fan was bigger and the old ceiling fan has a bigger bowl.
i was going to tape around the hole with drywall joint tape and spackle over the tape. which is better to use the joint compound or spackling paste? how do these two things differ in what they are used for?

How can a person make a hole in a glass bottle. Like if you wanted to use the bottle for a lamp base, you would have to run an electric cord through it. How can that hole be made in glass?

Could I somehow take off the sensor part, so the lights stay on all the time? My lights turn off too soon at night, sometimes the sensor can't detect and doesn't even turn on and is very annoying. I have the settings on highest sensitivity and longest time, but I wish I can just have regular lights without having to go out and buy them.

I've been to several flooring stores and this question seems to mystify all the people I have talked to. I would like to fill some large cracks & mars in my unsightly 80's linoleum before reflooring. The people upstairs had 3 professionals in their place trying to remove theirs and finally gave up and refloored over it.

I purchased stick-on tile flooring which I think are vinyl, but the instructions say to fill all cracks in the under-flooring before laying them down.

So what product do I use to fill the cracks, and where can I get it?

We are actually on a really tight budget; we are laying down the peel-and-stick tiles that look like hardwood so that we don't have to look at the awful, stained carpet between now and the time we can afford Pergo. We are covering the living & dining room areas all in the peel-and-stick so we'll be covering the linoleum and ripping out the carpet to put the tiles down on the other portion of the big room.

All help appreciated!
