Could I somehow take off the sensor part, so the lights stay on all the time? My lights turn off too soon at night, sometimes the sensor can't detect and doesn't even turn on and is very annoying. I have the settings on highest sensitivity and longest time, but I wish I can just have regular lights without having to go out and buy them.

It depends on the actual fixture of course, but the motion sensor on such lights acts as a secondary switch. If you're able to remove it and connect the "in" and "out" wires that were going into the sensor, then it should act as just a regular light.

Yes just locate the 2 wires to the sensor that switch the light and short them together. Make sure you turn the power off first.

Yes this can easily done but I say this as an electrician, as I dont recommend anyone alter wiring that is connected to the mains power supply. All that is required is to by pass the sensor which is in affect just a switch. The only problem you may have is if the wires are not long enough to reach each other. Please take good advise and get someone qualifed to do this for you as it is very simple, quick and not expensive. Good luck

yes, you should be able to turn them into dusk to dawn lights by turning the main power off to them for a minute or two at night and then back on. That should do it. OR to make sure that you'll do it right, go to wal-mart or another local hardware store and open one of the boxes and take a look at the instructions. There are specific instructions on how to make it a dusk to dawn light.

It will be alot safer than fooling with wires.

Most motion lights are capable of working either way usually you just have to flick the light switch on and off twice, wait for two min and the turn back on to reset the function, hope it works for you!!

Units I have installed allow you to use the switch to keep the light on by quickly turning the switch on and off quickly. Check the instructions for the security light.
