Essentially it says to remove my basement window. The old basement window has a steel frame that is kind of rusted. I was told those basement windows are difficult to remove. In lowes they sell these already made glassblock windows with vents in the center that are already made. The instructions show to use like a mortar bag and squeeze mortar around the entire window. It seems to me that It would be hard to get into there and it would not be very strong once your finished. Almost like someone could if they wanted to just kick it in??? Is it neccesary that I need to build a frame around there???? I need full instructions if someone could assist me????

Several years ago we completely stripped our wooden front doors. We got it down to the bare wood.

Some of the stain is wearing off now and I want to restain it. If I plan on using the same stain color, do I need to strip it again or can I sand down some, clean, and then stain and lacquer?

My house is 1700 square feet, 2 stories, and has vaulted ceilings on the second floor. I will not need the bathrooms, cupboards or the master bedroom painted. So the square footage that needs to be painted is around 1,300 square feet, but that is just the floor space, the wall square footage is obviously more.

I also need the doors and the trim painted. I will buy the supplies and paint, I just need someone to paint the interior of the house. I can prep the walls and move the furniture as needed. I prefer the laborer to apply two coats of paint, and primer is not needed.

I have a few people willing to paint my house in one weekend. One is asking for $800 and one is asking for $1,000.

What should I pay a day laborer to paint my house?

we are putting laminate flooring in our basement and we are installing kitchen cabinentsover the top of them. I am wondering if this is ok or do we need to wait until the cabinents are in and then install the floor due to the weight of the cabinents not allowing it to still function as a floating floor.

Does anyone know where I can purchase an unpainted imitation Tiffany Lamp. I would like to paint one myself with a special scheme and all I can find on ebay, yahoo or google are already painted lamps. By the way, I live in Laval, Quebec

I've seen some beds that have a padded fabric headboard. They look easy to make. Has anyone ever made one? Was it really as easy as it looks?

I don't know anything about woodworking, nor do I have any woodworking tools. So, whatever I build will have to be VERY simple! I thought about maybe using columns for legs. Would that even work?

I have a dresser with mirror and two nightstands. Once upon a time, the dresser was a shiny dark wood, and the nightstands were a duller medium wood. They were painted black a few years ago. Can I remove the paint and make them look like wood again, but this time the same wood?

The furniture is about 50 years old and still sturdy. I'm not sure if it's solid real wood, or if it has a veneer or anything.
