Here's some more ideas from a homemade cleaners page.
Drain Cleaners and Drain Openers
Prevention. To avoid clogging drains, use a drain
strainer to trap food particles and hair; collect grease
in cans rather than pouring it down the drain; pour a
kettle of boiling water down the drain weekly to melt fat
that may be building up in the drain; or weekly put some
vinegar and baking soda down your drain to break down fat
and keep your drain smelling fresh.
Plunger. A time-honored drain opener is the plunger.
This inexpensive tool will usually break up the clog and
allow it to float away. It may take more than a few
plunges to unclog the drain. DO NOT USE THIS METHOD AFTER
ANY COMMERCIAL DRAIN OPENER HAS BEEN USED OR IS STILL
PRESENT IN THE STANDING WATER.
Baking Soda and Vinegar. Pour 1/2 cup baking soda
down the drain. Add 1/2 cup white vinegar and cover the
drain if possible. Let set for a few minutes, then pour a
kettle of boiling water down the drain to flush it. The
combination of baking soda and vinegar can break down
fatty acids into soap and glycerine, allowing the clog
to wash down the drain. DO NOT USE THIS METHOD AFTER ANY
COMMERCIAL DRAIN OPENER HAS BEEN USED OR IS STILL PRESENT
IN THE STANDING WATER.
Salt and Baking Soda. Pour 1/2 cup salt and 1/2 cup
baking soda down the drain. Follow with 6 cups boiling
water. Let sit overnight and then flush with water. The
hot water should help dissolve the clog and the baking
soda and salt serve as an abrasive to break through the
clog.
Mechanical Snake (and Garden Hose). A flexible metal
snake can be purchased or rented. It is threaded down the
clogged drain and manually pushes the clog away. If used
in conjunction with a running garden hose, it can even
clear a blockage in the main drain to the street. First
crank the snake and feed it into the pipe. Next withdraw
the snake and flush the pipe by inserting a garden hose
with the water turned on full. With some luck, it may
save you the expense of a plumber.

The messy way is to clear out everything under the sink, put in a tug bigenough to hold all the water, and remove the J-shape 'grease trap' with a pipe wrench and clean it out manually, and check the remainig drainpipe for obstructions. Clean further along as needed.
The better way is to remove all food from the sink to avoid contamination, pull out as much debris as possible, then use a heavy liquid drain cleaner to eat thru the clog. Allow the sink to drain, refill and drain a couple times. Use either an air blast to empty the pipes or a small basin to catch the water, and clean the greasetrap as before.

first of all, clear any food that may be there. Then get a plunger and give it a good plunge if you can. You may have a grease ball or other clog that needs some drain cleaner. If it doesn't plunge through, use something like DRANO to work on the clog. You may have to follow the instructions on the bottle and repeat it a few times. Once you get the clog loose, run some warm water through the drain. This should get rid of your clog until the next time. Try not to use your drain as a garbage. it just don't work that way.

First try a plunger. You may need to have someone help you if your sink is a double sink. Put the stopper in one side then plunge the other.
If that doesn't work, get a bucket and take the trap off from under the sink (u shaped piece of the drain). Clean it out manually and see if any of the clog is in the straight pipe that runs into the wall. If there is, see if you can dislodge it with a screw driver, or you may need to get a drain cleaning snake from the hardware store.
If that doesn't work, you will need to call a plumber.

Before you pour any harsh chemicals down the drain, try using a plunger to dislodge the clog. If that doesn't work, remove any standing water in the sink. Put a bucket under the U-shaped pipe (trap). Unscrew the trap and clean out the blockage. Replace the trap and tighten it. Run some water. If it's still clogged, the blockage is further down. Get an auger (snake) and run that through the pipes to dislodge the clog. If that doesn't work, call a plumber.

One of the people said remove the J-bend trap and clean that out manually. This is the best way and if you have a drain snake while you have the whole drain apart, you might as wekk rodd the drain back and forth a bit just for good measure.

Use your dishwasher , It bought up some of the clog. Then poured lots of boiling water. Will try again tomorrow and will try vinegar and baking soda. Tried draino today.Maybe it helped a little.Don't like overusing it.Years ago did and caused a nice hole in a pipe in the basement.
