sorry....other than paint. I have a object-de-art that hangs on the wall. Three leaves welded together. They are all the same steel rusted color I want to change two of them to darker shades of steel to give them more seperation.

Heat it up. Whenever they do heat treatments on steel it will give it a darker blackish kind of look. They normally do that to harden the surface of steel.

I worked in a machine shop for a while.

you can heat it or dye..go to a gun/sporting store, you can use gun blueign thats what they use to color guns black, but they call it blueing..it is nto that hard a few step process do it in well ventelated area and wear gloves
