I love my recliner. I can sit on it and melt away. I tried to take care of the leather but I guess i didnt do enough. The leather is tearing appart. Using Nu-Vinyl repair isnt an option. I'd ilke to reupholster it with some kind of fabric but most books on the subject are vague or expect you to have some knowledge on these things. Does anyone have any info on an illustrated step by step instructional of reupholstering a recliner?

Thanks so much!
Al

I am a pretty good painter and have made a handpainted banner that could be personalized for a baby's room and I have an ivy themed floorcloth that I also did. Do you think there could be a market for these things and how much do you think they should be priced. They are 2 foot by 3 foot, handpainted, with a non-yellowing varnish to protect them...

Everything he did was shabby, I spent over two thousand dollars for Italian tile for bathroom and it all has to be torn down, beause of shabby workman ship. He put cement board on top of drywall, made me run around a buy equipment for him, shower pan cement leans toward wall, tiles ruined, cement board on top of drywall on the one wall, then tile on top of that -it's too thick. That all has to be torn down. Siding all wavy on outside, I can't get two windows open, because they are too tight, electrician never came back to finish his job. We need some help and advice on what to do. Thanks, DeeAnn

I am dying to put up my blinds but am struggling because I can't drill a hole in the corner - it's way too tight. In desperation I used those 'no nails' strips to see if they would work but, unfortunately the blinds are too heavy.

Even the man in B&Q said there wasn't really anything I could do but there must be! How do the professionals do it??? On another post it was mentioned that it looks more professional if the blinds are in the recess and, quite frankly, I agree.

Oh, please help someone! I just need to drill a couple of holes in each (very tight) corner and that's it. Everything else will be easy. This is soooo frustrating!!!

Would you have it in your house or are you a boring beige person? Just Kidding :P

Should we add purple, pink and white clouds to it or leave it as is with the blue sky only?

We're also debating on whether to paint the ceiling silver (we want to do this throughtout the house), or to just do the rest of the ceilings silver and have this one continue the mural sky.

My comforter is a dark purple and my blinds are blue. I found that a good color to match this was a color that can best be described as sand. I was thinking about painting 3 of the walls the sand color and one wall blue to have a beach type theme. It would be the wall opisite the blue blinds but similar in color.

Or should I just do a ll 4 walls the same color?

My kitchen is bright red. Click here to see what my living room looks like: http://good-times.webshots.com/album/559652974aHgnwe . The 4th and 5th pictures are photos that I really LIKE and they are the look that I'm going for.

What color should I go with for my living room? And what about the small half bath? I don't like blues, and I LOVE neutrals. BTW I hate the paintings in our living room so try to look past those.

The only thing is, is that everything in my living room is brown already (curtains, couch, chair, furniture)... so I'm afraid if I paint the walls light brown that everything will clash. I love neutrals, reds, oranges, cream, etc. Anything warm. Let me know your ideas - thank you very much!

my "desk" is a 33" card table, it's in a 3ft nook area, I have a pull out 3 drawer cart full of supplies, a tabletop drawer and a laptop that needs to be incorporated into the area. I am willing to buy wall shelving. Trying to make it unique, it's my place to be creative.

My room is already painted green, and I have a turquoise bed cover with pink water lilies. I don't know if all of that fits together, but I wanted a nature theme. Any ideas?

I moved in with my boyfriend and his brothers girlfriend had painted the walls in the kitchen a very bright ugly yellow. The attached dining room is a pumkin color. The cabinets and the woodwork are very dark and we can't paint over them. We can paint the wall, however. I need advice on what color I should paint the walls to make the kitchen lighter and less stressfull. The floors are white tile looking laminent with some blue-grey marbling through them. And the counter tops are buthcher block. I know it's not much to work with, butI don't need a complete kitchen make over just paint ideas so i don't mind being in the kitchen cooking dinner. Right now I tense up every time I have to walk through the space!!

the contract is $6100 and I had to buy the wooden rings and rods myself, the timeline is 6 wks. After 6 wks, they came to install but they couldn' t get it done because most of the blind they got were wrong measurement; they also cut the rods too short that I ended up replace some of the rods. Also, she sent email she said she will come and I took days off from work and she didn't show up. 4 months later, she sent another lady come over, this lady told me, b/c the other lady is new in business therefore she had all the measurement wrong, she will fix them for me, and at that time, I wanted to add the sheer, therefore she said she will charge me $2500 for everything, and I can deduct from the original contract with the other lady for replacing the wooden rods beaucase she cut it short. In April,07 the job almost completed, I deduct $600 from the $6100 for the wooden rods and the extra rings I paid. Now, the original lady send that $600 to collection, what will happen to me?

I am painting my living room. The house is a only few years old and the walls have a standard, smooth texture. I am not sure which type of roller or brushes will work best with a satin latex paint.

Also, I have vaulted ceilings and need to know if there are any tools besides a ladder and a brush that could help me reach such a high area of the walls. Thanks! :)

We are having our carpet replaced with floating wood floors in our living room. I am also going to be painting that room. To save time (and labor) is it ok if I remove the baseboards, paint, and then reattach those same baseboards after the floors are installed?
