Would you have it in your house or are you a boring beige person? Just Kidding :P
Should we add purple, pink and white clouds to it or leave it as is with the blue sky only?
We're also debating on whether to paint the ceiling silver (we want to do this throughtout the house), or to just do the rest of the ceilings silver and have this one continue the mural sky.

Thanks for the input everyone. The whole house is a work in progress. We just finished most of the kitchen and are now focusing on converting the garage into a master bedroom.
The ceiling fan is definitley going. As for lighting, We may install potlights in the ceilings throughout the house, or replace the fans with chandaliers or nicer lighting fixtures. We also have lamps set up.
The living room color scheme(fabrics & accessories) is blue, orange, tan and black. It looks quite nice. We already have the pink, purple & white paint, which are tones that match the mural (we're artists people :P) and envisioned soft layers of each color to resemble a sunset. It kind of looks like a cartoon at this stage, but we planned on softening it and making it more like a realistic sunset.

This pic was taken a few months ago, so I've been living with it for a while and we DO love it and it's not stressful. People have even yelled compliments out of their cars passing by when we had the door open. :P
My fiancé and I are big kids, he has an 8 year old son and I'm 7 months pregnant with his 2nd son, so yes it's about the kids also. His son loves it and is proud of his dad.
The reason we chose this mural is because I've always wanted an orange kitchen and this is right by the kitchen and they flow together. The rest of the house is deep blue, white, black, silver and dark wood.

His work is dynamic. It looks great, but it may be a bit stressful over time, so some soft clouds (not cumulus) might add a bit of relaxation to the room.
I would also recommend you continue the blue onto this ceiling, which will give the room a larger feel. With the lion so big, you need the room to feel big so you don't feel overwhelmed. The silver would be just one step too far.

This is a great mural and is appropriate, I suppose, for twenty-somethings' living room. Also, while not quite a beige person (although being somewhat conservative in taste), it is somewhat difficult to give advice without knowing other information such as: what furnishings will you install; what is the lighting of the room; what, if anything, will you do if you want a different look (my thought was wall hangings, multicolored if desired, to go with different seasons - this particular mural, while very well done, may not go well with, say, a Christmas theme); do you have children or will operate a daycare; and is the ceiling fan necessary?
Silver doesn't really match sunshine - and what is your purpose for utilizing silver (unless your fiancé will be painting a corresponding moon-inspired mural)?
Clouds would look nice, I think, although whether they are multicolored or not depend on the answers to some of the questions above.
If you're going to go all out, why not a room with the dish running away with the spoon - and, to use with the silver ceiling - the cow jumping over the moon? (Dining room, perhaps)

awsome mural... u could add some clouds if u like but, here's my opinion on the silver ceilings. Most silver has a metallic in it which can b good or bad. I'm afraid by painting everything silver esp w/ this mural will distract from the work u have done in u'r place. Yeah, that mural is big but ppl. eyes will also b drawn UP to the ceiling instead of focusing on the MAIN subject...u'r mural!
I wouldn't go crazy w/ the clouds of if u add some of the colors u mention again... nOT 2 b taking away from the mural. Cont. u'r mural into the ceiling as if it's part of it.
If u'r really aiming for using silver... use it on u'r walls in some design.. I think that would pop everything.
great job!

Personally It's a little bold for my taste, but I love the work. The massive blue field should be buffered with something to soften it up a bit. If you choose clouds try to keep the design in the spirit of the rest of the work. The sun has so much depth and warmth, he really nailed it. Perhaps instead of bright, bold silver on the ceiling you could faux texture the ceiling with silver highlights, like dry brushing. I personally have used, and love, the pearl glazes ragged rolled on an existing color. It lets the color come through and shimmers in the light. When I was younger I painted, airbrushed, and penciled in murals on walls. Everything from mild to extreme. Now I'm in a Tuscan/Italian phase, and I do mosaics. I'm trying to fill my house and garden with mosaics of every kind. I keep it simple outside so as not to distract from the beauty of my flowers. Inside though I have plans of recreating some famous art in mosaics.

Totally have the mural continue onto the ceiling. Itd be like being in another world in that room. A little escape. But I love the silver ceilings everywhere else though! Good job you guys!! I also think that clouds with all three colors (purple, pink, and white) would look great on it too. Shade the clouds with the pink and then to purple would look awesome with the shades of the colors youve already used. I love it!

ooohhh. pretty. But anyway, i cant really tell how dark the blue is from the picture, however, it looks fairly light, so i would go against using silver in that particular room, and continue with the mural sky. In my opinion silver looks better with a deeper blue, midnight blue or navy blue. However, the mural is gorgeous regardless of how you guys do the ceiling. And as for the purple, pink and white clouds, i cant really help much. sorry.

Great colours, but the sun's face is a bit scary. I don't know where you live, but I think this type of murial (big and bright)would better suit a patio wall or a child's bedroom. In any other room in the house - it will be a novelty for a while, fun to show your friends but then you'd get irritated by it.
Anyway - if you want to continue with it - go with a lighter blue for the ceiling (gradient-like would be nice - from dark blue to almost white) and add some birds in the sky (or planes - whichever you preffer) - or you can do a big moon on the other wall.

That is fabulous! I love it. I would continue the mural in that room but paint silver on the ceilings in the rest of your house. Your fiance is VERY talented.

Nice! :) Have you looked into those decorative ceiling tiles as an option to just the silver paint? Might look cool....
