Honestly, if you love this idea, do it. You are just using paint. $20 to do it, $20 to change it to another color. And loads of fun.

u have several yeahs & nays so may i make a suggestion?
Since u stated u'r comforter was purple & blinds blue... & u'r thinking of doing u'r walls sand... y not do something of this nature.
U will need glaze which u can get at Walmart for inexpensive & the glaze will stretch. Sponge paint the bottom part of u'r walls... in the sand color which would give it that kinda sandy look. U can take them 1/2 way up the walls or less... it's u'r choice. then put glaze into the blue paint & do the same then add the purple paint the same way as u'r last color.
Start w/ the top... purple. (3 part glaze to 1 part color) then do the blue next & sponge rt over it..bringing it down to where u would start the sand color. & don't worry if the eveness of the colors don't match from wall to wall .. that's the unique of it... it would look like sand going into water & blue/purple skys..
If u'r really creative.. then add some white clouds.. sea gulls... etc. U can do that to the wall that u would c the most
B creative & have fun!

That sounds really cute, or you could paint the bottom 1/3 of all 4 walls in a wavy design with the 'sand' color and paint everything above that the blue color.. Then it really would look like the beach. You could even stencil some shells in the 'sand' or something.. Whatever floats your boat. Hope this helps :)

I would paint all the walls sand and then buy pillows for the bed that have blue and sand in them. It would also depend on the color of your floor. If you have a blue rug, you probably would have a problem matching all the blues. But if your rug is tan or you have hardwood, you would be able to get away with more color.

You should do your room to reflect your taste. I like the wild and colorful approach to decorating but have learned to do my walls more neutral and then I can change my mind easier by changing accessories. But I did paint my bedroom chocolate brown. It didn't match anything but brought out all the colors in the room rather than just one. My decorator friend said it was an excellent choice and my sister told me it looked like cr*p. I love it, I live with it, so who cares what others think. . .There are so many choices, so many colors but also consider texture. My decorator friend did her hall in two very close shades of brown. When she was done it looked like she had put suede on her walls. Hit a few paint stores and look at the charts for ideas. There are so many ideas out there oh and check out the decorating mags at the grocery store. . .something will click and you will know it's you.

Sounds like you have enough bright colour going on in the room already. The sand sounds beautiful. You could pull it together by placing some blue or purple accessories around the room.

Definitely go with an accent wall. It adds character. Your color scheme sounds unique and very creative. Good choices.
